Former ROK president urges Kim Jong Un to ‘sit down with Trump’ and talk it out(NKNEWS, 4.27)
Han Ki-ho, a professor at the Ajou Institute for Unification, said fixing the reasons that led up to the breakdown in negotiations was essential.
"The likelihood of U.S.-North Korea talks appears low," Han said. "But outcomes would depend heavily on Donald Trump's personal leadership style, the support of his advisors and the U.S. domestic political landscape after the midterm elections."
Geopolitical variables, such as the result of the Ukraine war and the stabilization of the Middle East, could significantly affect prospects for stability on the Korean Peninsula, he added.
